The ability to handle media interviews is a huge asset to you and your business.  Interviews of all kinds, handled well, are like 'money in the bank' to your organisation if you understand the ground rules!

  -  It's easy to get sidetracked by journalists so preparation is crucial.
  -  Keep it simple - choose only one or two key messages - three, maximum.
  -  Make sure you have examples to bring your messages to life
  -  Double check that what you're saying is relevant to the audience you're addressing

In an interview you have is a chance to promote your message or your business.  So don’t waste it.  Equally, remember it’s not an advert!  You must have something interesting to add to the debate.   
 
Handled well, an interview can give you excellent media exposure, an improved or enhanced company image and increased sales.

Conversely, a poorly handled interview can create a negative perception of your organisation that may last a very long time – or worse still, be terminal.
